Does Honey Have A Lot Of Syns? Here's The Answer

When starting on the Slimming World diet plan, finding the correct syns for everything can be overwhelming, and if you use honey as a sweetener in your drinks or your morning porridge, you will have to be counting it in your syn allowance. 

The amount of syns honey has changes according to the amount, but for now, a teaspoon of honey has around 1 syn while a tablespoon of honey has 2.5 syns, so if you have lemon honey water in the morning, you will need to be tracking the syns in honey according to the spoon size.

How Many Syns Do Other Sweeteners Have?

Low Syn Honey & Banana Baked Oats

This brekky needs oats (which can be used as your Healthy Extra B), honey, mashed banana (which has to be counted as syns because it is mashed), baking powder, 1 egg, fat-free yoghurt, and some granulated sweetener. 

In terms of making the oats, you will need to mix the oats, sweetener and eggs beforehand then add in your honey and mashed banana put it all into a dish and let it bake!

Its whole recipe serves one person and takes around 35 minutes to cook as these are baked oats, they come in at 5 syns per serving.

SW Honey & Yoghurt Cheesecake

All you need is a spare hour on your hands, and you've got a slimming world cheesecake that serves up to 10 people, making it a great addition to a dinner party. 

For the recipe you need; extra-light spread, light digestive biscuits, fat-free natural Greek yoghurt, Quark, 4 large eggs, 2 level tbsp honey, ground cinnamon, vanilla essence, sweetener and fat-free natural fromage frais. 

To make the cheesecake you use the crushed biscuits as your base then the quark with your eggs, honey and spices for the filling. It will need to be chilled for around 8 hours.
