Just because shop-bought chicken goujons are high in syns, doesn't mean you can't make your own healthy alternatives at home which taste the same! Our slimming world recipe below uses wholemeal bread as your healthy extra B to keep the syns low and is baked rather than fried.

Ingredients

  • Two eggs.
  • Large teaspoon of garlic granules.
  • Four chicken breasts cut into strips.
  • 120g of wholemeal bread.
  • Seasoning.
  • Half a teaspoon of mustard powder.
  • Parsley.
  • Lemon.
  • Low cal cooking spray.

Method

  1. Start by lining a baking sheet and spraying it with your oil then heat your oven to 180 degrees.
  2. Break up your bread into a blender then put in the parsley, garlic, seasoning, mustard powder, you can also grate in the rind of your lemon.
  3. Whisk up your egg then dip each breast strip into the egg then the breadcrumb mix and place on to your baking tray, squeeze over the lemon.
  4. Bake in the oven for 25 minutes and enjoy!
