Slimming world red cabbage

Slimming World Slow Cooker Braised Red Cabbage is rich in vitamin C and fiber and is good for digestive health. Braised red cabbage is a great alternative to more traditional sides, like roast potatoes.   It’s a delicious way to add extra fiber to a meal, as a side dish to roast pork or beef. Braising the red cabbage gently allows you to really pack in flavor, without adding a lot of calories. You’ll want to add this braised red cabbage to your side dish repertoire, no Christmas Day pork or beef roast will ever be the same without this recipe.

Health benefits:

Cabbage is a great staple in any diet. It contains plenty of vitamins and minerals essential for maintaining good health, without having a high amount of carbs because of the high water content. It has plenty of folate, a vitamin essential to pregnant mothers, and a vitamin that is usually found in cereals. It can be hard to get when trying to cut carbs. It also contains vitamin C, an antioxidant, and potassium, which helps support good blood pressure and heart health.

The vinegar used in this is really good for boosting digestive health. Vinegar contains prebiotics, which help the bacteria in your digestive system break down the food you eat into nutrients useful for your body. Used with a probiotic, prebiotics can really make a difference. It’s a great way to boost general immunity, which is especially useful during cold and flu season.
