Is Vodka Lime & Soda High In Syns?

One of the best parts about the slimming world plan is that it allows you to have alcohol in moderation as long as you track the drinks syns and keep within your syn allowance.

Vodka lime and soda is a low syn drink, and can have between 3-5 syns depending on the cordial used and how much vodka you use in your drink.

Why Is Vodka Lime And Soda Low In Syns?

You might be surprised to learn that vodka, lime and soda is only 3-5 syns a glass, but this is because lime and soda cordial are low in syns, especially if you choose a sugar-free version with most to have around 1 syns or two syns per 100 ml.

The vodka itself has 3 syns per 25ml making it low in syns compared to other spirits, still, you have to be careful to drink in moderation as three vodka, lime and sodas could nearly cost you 10 syns which is over half your daily syn allowance.

Low Syn Cocktail Ideas SW Friendly

At only 4.5 syns a glass, why not make yourself an SW friendly Tequila Sunrise?

Ingredients

  • 35ml of Tequila of choice.
  • Zero sugar orange squash 15ml.
  • Ocean spray blueberry juice 120ml.
  • Ice.

Method

  1. Pour your tequila and juice into a glass and add your ice, then pour the blueberry juice in and give a stir!

Espresso Martini

Although the espresso martini requires a little more effort, it's worth it at only 5 syns a glass.

Ingredients

  • Vodka 25ml.
  • One drop of vanilla essence.
  • A shot of cold espresso.
  • One spoon of single cream.
  • A small drop of milk.

Method

  1. Make your espresso first, allow it to cool then mix all the ingredients in a shaker and shake until combined!

Mojito

At 5 syns a glass, why not pretend you are at the beach this weekend with a cold SW friendly mojito in your garden.

Ingredients

  • Rum 35ml.
  • Mint leaves.
  • Soda water.
  • A small pinch of sweetener.
  • Lime.
  • Crushed ice.

Method

  1. First press the mint leaves, sweetener and pieces of lime in a glass together then add your rum and soda, stir and serve!

Should I Drink Vodka, Lime And Soda Cocktails On The Slimming World Plan?

To conclude, vodka, soda and lime is great low syn drink to enjoy on the SW plan as long as it fits within your daily syn allowance for the day. We suggest however drinking them in moderation, as up to three could take up your entire allowance.

We also suggest using diet soda and lime with your vodka rather than pre-made mixers as these tend to be higher in syns.
