If you are craving some shortbread but don't want to spend all the syns, you can always make your SW millionaires shortbread at home, our recipe below only has 4.5 syns a serving for a whole square and is much lower in sugar than regular shortbread!
Ingredients
Shortbread
140g of flour.
75g of unsalted butter.
Drop of vanilla extract.
Five spoons of granulated sweetener.
Topping
60ml of evaporated milk.
40g of milk chocolate.
60ml of water.
Four tablespoons of brown sugar and demerara sugar.
Method
Begin by heating your oven to gas mark 6 then cream your butter, sugar and vanilla extract together, mix the flour in another bowl with a pinch of salt, add the sweetener then cream this into the butter mixture.
Now line an 8-inch square tin, add in the mix flattening it down with the back of a spoon and bake for around 10-12 minutes, remove and let the base cool down.
Mix the demerara and brown sugar with the water and simmer it till dissolved and syrup-like, this will be for around 6 minutes in total.
Pour on top of the biscuit base then allow it to cool, melt your chocolate in the microwave and drizzle on top through the corner of a zip lock bag.
