Ingredients

  • Two onions.
  • Two carrots.
  • 700g of lean beef for stewing.
  • 300ml of beef stock.
  • 550g of potatoes.
  • Tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce.
  • One can of baked beans.
  • One spoonful of plain flour.
  • Two bay leaves.

Method

  1. Start by heating your oven to gas mark 4 then put the beef, flour, onions and carrots into a baking dish and season then pour the stock in.
  2. Next add in the sauce, beans and bay leaves and stir to mix, put the sliced potatoes on top.
  3. Cook in the oven with foil for around 3 hours, remove the foil on top and brown the potatoes for 30 minutes and grill to brown.
