There's nothing like having a warm pot of noodles on a winters day or if you need a quick snack or lunch, but as you have probably now realised, not all are that healthy, and if you are not keen on the low-fat versions of super noodles, it might be worth making your version of instant noodles.

We have listed our two favourite noodle recipes below to try at home.

Slimming World Friendly Chili Prawns & Noodles

Not only does this recipe take less than 30 minutes to cook, but it is only 1.5 syns per serving (serves two) making it slimming world friendly. 

Recipe details below!

Ingredients 

  • 180g of prawns. 
  • 200g or a large handful of shredded up vegetables. 
  • 200g of egg noodles. 
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons of soy sauce. 
  • 2 tablespoons of sweet chilli sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of tomato paste. 
  • 1 tablespoon of water. 
  • 2 pieces of garlic crushed and a teaspoon of fresh ginger. 
  • 2 tablespoons of rice vinegar. 
  • Low cal spray oil. 
  • Chopped spring onions. 

Method 

  1. Whisk the soy sauce, chilli sauce, tomato paste, water, vinegar, ginger and garlic to make a sauce. 
  2. Cook your noodles in boiling water and set them aside.
  3. Fry the vegetables in a wok and add in the prawns until they are cooked through and turn pink. 
  4. Throw the sauce back in, let it simmer then add the noodles, serve and enjoy!

Simple Homemade Pot Noodles

If you love a simple and quick pot noodle for lunch then you are going to love this homemade pot noodle recipe, it is SYN FREE and not to mention great in taste. 

Ingredients 

  • 1/2 a nest of egg noodles. 
  • 1 pak choi leaf. 
  • 2 tsp of soy sauce. 
  • 1 stock cube. 
  • 1/2 a chilli. 
  • Grated carrot. 
  • 1/2 of a diced onion. 
  • 1/2 chicken breast shredded. 
  • A teaspoon of grated ginger. 
  • Chopped pepper, spring onion and spinach. 
  • 500ml of hot water. 

Method 

  1. Place the cooked nest of noodles in the bottom of the jar, sprinkle the chilli, ginger and stock on top. 
  2. Add in all your veggies on top, as well as the chicken and refrigerate until time to eat.
  3. When it's time to eat, add in your boiling water with some soy sauce, wait a few minutes then enjoy.
