Our Slimming World Friendly Spaghetti Bolognese

If you are craving a Spaghetti Bolognese and you are feeling inspired then why not make one that is low in syns rather than a high syn tinned version?

We've put the recipe details to our SW friendly spaghetti Bolognese down below which serves 4-6 people and has a low syn value of 2 per serving!

Ingredients

  • 500g lean mince beef
  • Two tins of chopped tomatoes.
  • 2 large carrots.
  • 2 large onions.
  • 2 sticks celery.
  • 500ml of beef stock
  • 125ml of red wine. (4 syns)
  • 100ml of skimmed milk. (3 syns)
  • Thyme.
  • Rosemary.
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 teaspoon of dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon of sweetener.

Method

  • Step one - First fry off the onion, carrots and celery then add your beef mince and fry until browned.
  • Step two - Now add your tinned tomatoes, beef stock, milk and wine and allow the sauce to simmer.
  • Step three - Add the rest of your herbs and garlic, as well as the sweetener too.
  • Step four - Allow cooking for at least an hour or until the sauce has thickened then serve.
