Are Fairy Cakes Slimming World Friendly? - Our Syn Guide!
If you are craving some fairy cakes or maybe you feel like baking, you will need to make sure you're tracking the syns in your fairy cakes in order for them not to affect your weight loss on the SW plan.
Fairy cakes on average have around 5-5.5 syns depending on whether or not they are iced, making them average in syns for a small cake, we would suggest having them in moderation to avoid spending too many syns.
To find out more about the syns in fairy cakes, we've composed a small syn guide below taking you through how many fairy cakes you can have on the slimming world, syn values, low syn alternatives and an SW recipe for making your fairy cake!
How Many Fairy Cakes Can I Eat On Slimming World?
At 5 syns for a fairy cake, you can have up to three fairy cakes before using up all of your daily syn allowance, making the average in syns.
Fairy cakes remain quite low in syns in comparison to other cakes since their ingredients are basic, consisting of a plain vanilla sponge and a little icing. Still, although fairy cakes have an average syn value, they can be quite high in fat and sugar, having up to 6g for just one little cake, so we would suggest eating them in moderation.

Six spoons of sweetener.
50g of low fat spread.
Two drops of vanilla essence.
100g of self-raising flour.
Nine teaspoons of icing sugar.
Yellow food colouring.
Start the recipe by heating your oven to gas mark 6 then lining a muffin tray, grate your lemon zest in a bowl and reserve the zest for later use.
Whisk your eggs, and sweetener and spread in a bowl, add the flour and combine with the zest and vanilla essence, bake in the oven for 20 minutes.
To make your drizzle mix the sugar, lemon juice and food colouring then drizzle over the cupcakes.
Overall, Fairy cakes are average in syns, having 5 syns per cake, but this can be more depending on the icing, this means you could have up to 3 cakes for your whole 15 syn daily allowance. To save syns we suggest making your own fairy cakes with sweetener at home to cut down the sugar with our recipe above.
