Slimming World Aldi Shopping List: Best Buys on a Budget (2026)

Why Aldi Is Brilliant for Slimming World

If you're doing Slimming World on a budget — and honestly, who isn't these days — Aldi is an absolute godsend. I switched my weekly shop from Tesco to Aldi about two years ago and I genuinely save around 30-40% on my food bill without compromising on plan at all.

The thing about Aldi is that most of their own-brand products are incredibly good quality, and loads of them are naturally Slimming World friendly. You just need to know what to look for and what to avoid.

I've put together this complete aisle-by-aisle shopping list so you can walk in, fill your trolley, and know exactly what's free, what's speed, what counts as a Healthy Extra, and what you'll need to syn. I update this regularly because Aldi do change their range, but everything listed here is correct as of early 2026.

Fruit and Veg Aisle

This is where your trolley should be heaviest. Aldi's fruit and veg is properly cheap and usually really fresh — their Super 6 deals are always worth checking.

My Typical Aldi Slimming World Shop

Here's roughly what goes in my trolley each week. This feeds two of us for about £35-40:

  • 1kg chicken breast, 500g lean mince, 1 pack bacon medallions
  • 2 packs salmon fillets, 1 pack prawns, 4 tins tuna
  • 15 eggs, 500g fat-free yoghurt, 500g quark, 2L skimmed milk, block of cheddar (HEA)
  • Bananas, strawberries, blueberries, apples, satsumas
  • Salad bags, tomatoes, cucumber, peppers, mushrooms, broccoli, onions, carrots
  • Frozen mixed veg, frozen peas, frozen berries
  • Pasta, rice, tinned tomatoes x4, passata, baked beans x4, kidney beans, chickpeas
  • Frylight, stock cubes, herbs and spices
  • Wholemeal bread (HEB)

That covers breakfasts, lunches, and dinners for a full week with plenty of variety. I batch cook bolognese and soup on Sunday to freeze portions for busy weeknights.

Budget Tips for Slimming World at Aldi

  • Check the Super 6 — Aldi rotate their six cheapest fruit and veg offers weekly. Build meals around whatever's on offer.
  • Buy frozen veg — it's cheaper, lasts longer, and is just as nutritious. No waste either.
  • Go for the big packs of chicken — the 1kg packs are much better value per kilo than smaller packs. Freeze what you don't need.
  • Stock up on tinned goods — chopped tomatoes, beans, and tuna are dirt cheap at Aldi and they're all free foods.
  • Don't shop hungry — this is true everywhere, but especially at Aldi where the middle aisle of random bargains will get you every time.
  • Meal plan before you go — write your meals for the week, then write your list. You'll buy less, waste less, and spend less.

Frequently Asked Questions

Their own-brand products like Ashfield Farm meat, Brooklea yoghurts, and Everyday Essentials cupboard staples are all very affordable and most are naturally SW-friendly. Does Aldi sell Frylight?

Yes, Aldi stocks Frylight low-calorie cooking spray, which is a Slimming World essential. It's usually found in the cooking oils section and costs around 2.49 pounds. If they're out of stock, any 1-calorie cooking spray is fine as a substitute.

Aldi's Village Bakery wholemeal bread works as a Healthy Extra B choice — typically two slices from their small 400g loaf. Always check the weight per slice to make sure two slices come to around 60g. Their wholemeal rolls can also be used as one roll per HEB if the weight is 60g or under.
